Hi, I have searched high and low for Nellie. Whatever may have happened to her after her mother died in 1904 in Carroll, Carroll CO., IA? Mary Ella "Nellie" ENGLISH B 1861 Racine, Racine CO., WI. D Unk. Washington(?) Mary's parents John & Jane ENGLISH moved to Iowa in the late 1860's to Carroll, Carroll CO., IA. and resided there the remainder of their lives. John died in 1901 and Jane in 1904. Nellie had never married and had stayed at home to care for her mother who was paralized from a stroke. Family stories say that Nellie moved to Washington, where other siblings & families lived; either Whidbey Island or Everett; but letters to libraries, Historical Societies, and reviewing census reports show no sign of Nellie. The other family story says that Nellie married an Oliver COGEAN and their was a son Joe. Since Nellie was over 40 perhaps this was his son. But again there is no record of Joe.
