A few more stories dicovered last night on the missing 'ALBION LEE ROWE" for those following my saga... :-) Well, tonight my father "remembered" a few more details about the missing Albion Lee Rowe. FYI: Seems Albion traveled more than a lot. Almost moving his family every year, and had several jobs. The longest place they lived was in Seattle, Wa. (Can't believe he didn't tell me that before! Grrr). Anyway, Here's what he said: About 1939 to 1944 they lived in Seattle, Wa. Albion worked as a supervisor (?) at Seattle Tacoma Shipyard in about 1943. 1944 they went to El Paso, TX where Albion worked at a Neon Company. Also in or about 1944 he worked as a U.S. Customs Guard, probably in Texas. At some point during WW2, he worked also a Draftsman - designing plans, etc for the military : grenades. And it was in 1937 when he was a Chemist, he invented some solution that could take the porcelain off of pots & pans, and would be used for power cleaning. And that his mother had died when he was 7 years old, and his father died when he was 12.. (how sad!) Interesting character, that's for sure! (Pima County). * Was a newspaper publisher in either San Antonio or Harlington Texas in the 1930's. He had lived in both cities for a short time. * lived with his family in many states: Dakotas, Florida, Az, El Paso TX, New Mexico, California. Prefered warm climates. Always wanted to go to Bermuda. March 1979 Long Beach/Anaheim SS# 527-32-4197 ALBION & ANNA had three children: LEONA ADELIA ROWE - Smith - Fisher b.Nov. 15, 1925 Beaumont, TX d. March 18, 1996 Anaheim, CA Phyllis ROWE -Swift b July 27, 1927 - San Diego, CA 1927 DONALD LEE ROWE (my father) b. January 21, 1930 L.A. County, CA Albion was last seen in 1955 - while living with his family in LA MESA - San Diego County, Ca. His wife - ANNA- waited for him to return for 7 years before filing for divorce. That would be about 1962. At that time she was living in Huntington Park, CA. Soon, she re-married someone named "Clarence" - last name unknown. He was a mechanic for the 7 Up Company's trucks. note: ANNA ADELIA MURRAY born in Indiana: Albion's wife. She had one BROTHER: TIM MURRAY. Her MOTHER was MARY MURRAY from CANADA.
