I have two unsolved mysteries in the same family. Maybe if this sounds familiar to you, you can contact me. 1. Leon Peao was found wandering in a town in VT(?) definitely ME, NH, VT. He was most likely part American Indian. He did not speak English and was about 8 years old. he was taken in by a family whose name we do not know and given the PEAO name. He lived with them until he was about 16. He later married Roselle LeClaire and had at least one son named John Harry Peao, born in Waterbury, VT. This story is a legend that has been passed down in my family for 5 generations. We do not know the dates involved except that it was before 1835. We don't know the name of the family that took him in. And we do not know the tribes in the Waterbury/Northfield/Barre Vermont area that he could have been from. 2. John Harry Peao married Kate Currier of Sullivan, NH and together they had 8 children. They moved to North Attleboro, MA. Shortly thereafter, John left and was never heard from again. We do not know if he changed his name, if he had another family after this one, or where he died. Any info on how to track some of these things down, greatly appreciated.
