I'm looking for information on the following couple: Shortly after the turn of the century, Michael and Katharina (SCHNITZLER) UDVARI and their daughter, Anna, left Hungary, intending to join a number of relatives who had already immigrated to the United States. The story handed down was that Katharina gave birth to a baby boy on the boat over to America, and the baby died and was buried at sea. Then when the family arrived at the port, they were turned away, supposedly because "the quota was filled", and the ship was diverted to South America, but we have no idea what country. Also, reportedly traveling with them was the son of Katharina's brother. His name was Peter Schnitzler. Some cousins of Michael UDVARI are known to have settled in BRAZIL, but we've not been able to contact them in recent years, nor do we know whether Michael and his family were with them.
