    1. [GEN-UNSOLVED-MYSTERIES-L] NUNEZ and HERNANDEZ in Coahuila, Mexico
    2. I'm looking for information on the following: My husband's grandfather, Timoteo NUNEZ, was born in Coahuila (possibly near Allende) on Aug. 28, 1898. His parents were Victoriano and Virginia (HERNANDEZ) NUNEZ. He had an older sister (first name unknown), who was born about 1894. When he was about 18 months old, his mother took his six-year-old sister and disappeared while his father was at work, leaving Timoteo behind, alone in the house. Neighbors heard him crying and notified his father. A few years later, while Timoteo was in Mexico City, a woman approached him and told him she was his mother. Timoteo was frightened and apparently didn't believe her. Nothing else is known about the mother or the sister, or what became of them. Timoteo and his father, Victoriano, came to the U.S. around the turn of the century, either shortly before or shortly after the town in which Timoteo was born was wiped out by flood. They were accompanied by Victoriano's mother, Gumecinda, and her second husband, Pasqual ZAMARRIPA, and their children. They came into the U.S. through Eagle Pass, Texas. Gumecinda and Victoriano may have been originally from Jalisco, possibly near Rio Escondido. I'd appreciate any info or ideas you can give me, and if we have a connection, I'll be glad to share what info I have. Sarah G.
