Hi Darrell, You must think me a bum for not answering your nice note. I'm not, but my computer is. It died taking all my stuff with it. I will forward your nice note to my cousin, Harley. He lives in KC, and these twins were his sisters. Hi Listers! I had not seen any Gen-Unsolved-Mysteries Emails in about two weeks. Today I have received several emails and it appears that there must of been prior messages that they are referring to. I am at a loss to the topics. Can someone tell me if my messages were possibly not coming through or was there a 2 week lapse? Has there been messages right along? Thank you Pat

Roswell Chester Nourse left his home in Cleveland, OH December 9, 1930 and no one ever heard of him again. I have searched for similar names and dates on Social Security index but have found nothing. Family members have looked over the years but nothing. We are at a loss as to what to try next. It was the Depression and he was behind on his mortgage payments. We would appreciate any help. Keep searching, don't give up. It took thirty years and the past 2-3 years with queries all over the internet but finally found out what happened to my grandfather. I found I have a new aunt and uncle and a host of cousins. Grandfater Leslie Wehrle more or less abandon his family in 1920. From the time he married my grandmother in 1911 until his supposed death in 1923 he had four aliases: Real name Leslie Ray Wehrle and then Orville May, Charles Brown and Alfred Leslie Worley. In the SSDI you can put in a birth date if you have it and check that way. Spell the name differently. Our grandfather seemed to take names of people he met as a railroad telegrapher, persons with all the above names were telegraphers. The one Orville May, I have his retirement papers, he had a family of his own. My grandfather just borrowed his name for a few years. With the SSDI you can put the name in all different ways, First, last name. He might have used his fathers name. My guess is he just walked away from his troubles and became someone else. Good luck. You have lots of places to look. Marilyn
Eleanor: How did you get into the Ancestry.com free offer. I have trie to get in for day, with no luck. Thanks, Victoria
Not sure this would help any, but years ago I lived in Albany, GA and there were many Thalheimers living there. Possibly some distant relatives? On Feb 1, 1966, a male child was born in Daytona Beach, Florida - was eventually adopted in the state of Alabama - he requested a search be done for his birthmother in 1999, the Al DHR did so and found that she had died of lung cancer in 1985, but that he had a half-sister who had kept him while he was a child (prior to his adoption), and had looked for him and rerquested that Al DHR tell him her address, they refused. Not much mystery but since he cannot get any info from DHR, we are trying all avenues. Her name is possibly Barbara, and his birthname is possibly Ward. He now wants to find his sister and where his birth mom was buried. Any help would be appreciated. delilah

HI, My ancestors (stating their place of birth as Germany) seem to have mysteriously appeared in Baltimore in 1850 with a Maryland born (1839) girl child living in their household. The NARA says they can't find them in their indexes. Any ideas? Joy
There are 303 references to Gills in the DAR lineage books at Ancestry.com. Today (July 9) is the last day that this database is free. I think the DAR's records are pretty reliable for accuracy. I went to high school with a guy named Gill. Eleanor in PA

If you didn't get the pictures that we sent you by today - then you'll get them Monday. Tal sent them out Thursday morning. Tal remembers hearing that he had lived in California - but doesn't remember who he heard it from. Also Tal remembers (think I told you this before) that a lady called Pat's house 2 or 3 times asking for him when he was in the hospital. But Pat doesn't seem to remember that anymore. Tal clearly remembers that being discussed. Pat is suppose to call us tonight around 7pm. She called here today just as I was going out the door to pick Tal up from work. Tal works until 2:30 on Saturdays - so she said she would call back tonight. She said remember I'll be out there in 2 weeks. I told her I knew that and we were waiting for her. We will have to go on diets before she arrives and after she leaves - as we always go out to eat a lot. I try and be good - but Pat makes me eat!!!! Tal says Erma probably knows a lot about your Dad and Tal is sure she has some pictures of him. If you want me to - I will ask Erma if she has any pictures of him - as there is a picture that we cannot find of Tal that Erma sent us. It was (the only school picture - beside the high school or Jr. High picture that I sent you). So sad Edna doesn't have any pictures - God my Mom took hundreds of pictures of my brother and myself. She overdid it - but I'm thankful now. Mary - if you think about it - you probably have a really nice family out here in California. Wouldn't that be great if you did. Hi Mary Lee, I was trying out some new CDs I have and there are several Rogness' listed as living in California at one time or another. Have you tried looking up Rogness in any of the online phone directories? Have you thought about sending for any Social Security files for any issued in California. They might be part of his "other family". I just looked in the San Diego phone book and there are 2 listed. C. R. Rogness 858-565-0777 Curtis A. Rogness 858-278-1862 Are you up to making a phone call? Diana, San Diego
