I am looking for information on my father who died when I was 2. His name is Robert Roy Rogness, born 02/15/1927, died 11/22/1963. He married my Mother in 1957 in Iowa City Iowa. I am getting conflicting information as to what his parents names are. He would not talk about his side of the family to my mother. He would get mad and change the subject, every time she brought it up. He would only say he was born in Gold Stone Montana and that his mothers name was Rose. I ordered a birth certificate from Montana, and there was not one on file. I also ordered a birth certificate from Michigan and North Dakota there was not one there either. He applied for the Social Security Card in Rugby North Dakota on May 25,1954. On his Social Security Card application it says: He was born Big Rapids Michigan Father: Robert John Rogness Mother: Alice McKinzie On his and my Mothers marriage certificate it says: He was born Gold Stone Montana Father: Gulleck Sven Rogness Mother: Rose Swenson ==== GEN-UNSOLVED-MYSTERIES Mailing List ==== Please consider becoming a Rootsweb contributor. ============================== Personalized Mailing Lists: never miss a connection again. http://pml.rootsweb.com/ Brought to you by RootsWeb.com. --WebTV-Mail-5589-7387--

    2. Hi Margaret I assumed that some must be missing and I also have other messages sent to me asking me for an answer to a message not received. I do not know if the problem lies with Compuserve or Rootsweb.com but it happens quite frequently. I have a small Genealogy Business and this really upsets me. Thank you for responding so I know, Pat

    3. My name is Mary Rogness-Stickney I am looking for information on my father who died when I was 2 years old. His name was Robert Roy Rogness, born 02/15/1927 somewhere died 11/22/1963 Iowa City Iowa. He applied for a Social Security Card in 1954 in Rugby North Dakota. On his Social Security Card application it says: He was born Big Rapids Michigan Father: Robert John Rogness Mother: Alice McKinzie birth date: 02/15/1926 On his and my Mothers marriage certificate it says: He was born Goldstone Montana Father: Gulleck Sven Rogness Mother: Rose Swenson birth date: 02/15/1926 I have also just found out that, my father and my grandfather were in a bar together. After my father left , a man came up to my grandfather and told him that he knew my father when he lived in California and had 4 kids. My uncle had gone with my father on several occasions in the moving truck. My father was always looking for places with Western Union. Most likely he was sending money to said children and ex-wife (if ex, not sure). Also everyone state they though he looked older than he claimed to be. But that could be from the Brain tumor he had. He named my brother Robert John Rogness. So I think the Social Security card info is correct. I can't prove it though.

Sounds like a Rootsweb problem. Nothing like coming in on the middle of a conversation!
