    3. Anyone know what may have happened to Charles Thomas Harris b. 4-16-1870 (?) or Blanche Shay Harris b. 7-31-1886 (?) Around Utah The story goes like this: My ggrand-pa, Claude Owen Harris b.6-5-1904 in Ogden (Weber Co.) Utah ,born to the above people. Charles ran off with Claude soon after born and was in San Francisco during the "Great Quake of 1906". I know that for some reason unknown that Charles took Claude on to Jacinto (Alcorn/Old Tishamingo Co.) and left him with his (Charles's) father -Richard Owen and Step-mom - Martha "Mattie (Hamby) Harris and left. Claude was brought up like one of their children. As far as we know Claude never heard or saw either his mother of father after this. I had also heard from a great-aunt that Blanche may have lived/moved(?) and probably remarried and died in Northern Calif. but no-one knows. Claude died in Jacinto on 1-23-1995 and is buried in the Jacinto Cemetery. Anyone know anything that might help explain all this? Angie lance38367@centurytel.net

    2. i too am having a problem with med records or any other records for that matter from the VA considering that they are a gov institiution you KNOW they protect their own. have you visited the va website or contacted a group @ delphi forums? there is much information available without you having to hit your head against a wall. the more you know what your rights are, the more you will find available to you. good luck the VA was set up for our vets but unfortunately it hinders their recovery and their families protocol in each different case. let me know privately if you find out some thing that is helpful to you sandra

    2. I also am dealing with the VA concerning my husband's medical records. My husband is alive and well and we have been trying to get a copy of his med. records for over a year but so far have received zilch. I think a lot depends on the actual employees in the records dept., if they decide they don't want to copy records for you, they don't. We have filled out several requests but they always have some excuse for not giving up the records. I have called the State Rep. for our area and I think the records will now be forth coming.

    3. I do not KNOW anything for sure but just SUSPECT something is amiss. There are too many inconsistencies. He said he was a secret agent but he said it like it was a joke. He died in CA (supposedly) and was cremated. The ashes were sent to us by UPS. This is why I am unsure as to the validity of the death certificate. He never told us about these other names. We discovered this after he died and started looking up things for the genealogy. ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET! 2. Hi Linda I think there is something wrong with this picture. If you have a death certificate why does the VA seem to think he is still alive. Where is he buried if you have his death certificate. If it is not him who is buried there? Sorry, But I have dealt with VA and something here does not add up. Why did you not mention you had the death certificate in your orignal message and his place of burial? .Besides with proper ID you can receive any information that you are entitled to from the VA. I got my mother's brother's information w/o a question with all the proper ID and they withheld nothing. I have been a member of various VA organizations within the Nat. status and worked on the committee's where we search for this info and cannot understand your problem. You must know something else you are not telling us. 3. If you have a death certificate it should say where he died. Or try the VA hospital. It does not cost anything. But a few stamps. Or a phone call. Just say you need the medical history informaiton and you can get it. And a next of kin signature on a release of information form. Did you check out the FBI site I sent. I have the address at home of where to write to. It takes quite awhile. I am still waiting on mine, but they have assigned me a case number. "Linda S. 3. Have you tried to get a death certificate? My stepdad lived quite some time with emphysema. Also the next of kin can sign for a copy of his medical records. If you can find a death cert or obit on him. Try the FBI freedom of information act. http://foia.fbi.gov/ be sure to ask for his MAIN file , and mention that he is dead "Linda S. 3. I have run into some problems researching my father-in-law's background. He died in 1983. He never would tell us anything about this past and made up a lot of what he did say so I am not taking anything at face value. The name we know him by was Edward Anthony Andrews III but we later learned he was born Kenneth Raymond Burris and that he had at least 4 social security numbers. The VA has given us some info but say that they cannot release some of the info. According to them, one of the aliases is not dead. I truly believe he is dead because he had a very hard time breathing the last that we saw of him due to emphysema. We have found some relatives from a previous marriage, but there is a big gap in his life that we have been unable to fill in. The relatives said they thought he had another wife before my mother-in-law. ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET! 1. Re: Unidentified subject!
    2. Hi Linda Do you think that he might not be dead but in a VA Hospital?? From what you say I assume that he was separated or had at least left your Mother-In-Law. If your Mother-In-Law is living and has a Marriage Certificate I would suggest you go to your local VA hospital (with Marriage Certificate) and I think that they will have to give you further information. Also, if your husband has this information and his birth certificate (listing him as his father) they would have to give him further information. Also, they are very good at helping people who are trying to make contact, but I believe you would have to go in person with proper ID to explain your reason. Hope you work something out. Pat
