In other days methinks I see the good And way worn toiler coming here to read This richest gift of blessed Heav'nly food - This token of Paradisal mead. How changed to-day from these brave days of yore Each house has now this treasure trove of worth, All can have the word of sacred love, Blest gift of God to dwellers of the earth, We are more blessed than those that read this book When first 'twas chained within this holy nook.
