WHITEHAVEN EDUCATION COMMITTEE. ________ HEALTH OF THE CHILDREN. _______ At a meeting of the Finance and School Attendance Sub-Committee on December 14th, the School Nurse reported that since the last report eighty-eight new cases have attended at the daily clinic, and 424 dressings, etc., have been done. Two hundred and fifty one boys and 241 girls have been examined for cleanliness. Four boys and nine girls were found verminous. The observation cases had been followed up at the other schools. One case was reported to N.S.P.C.C., Inspector, where the mother has been warned several times without any improvement. Fifty-eight homes have been visited re: cleanliness, defects, and children referred by head teachers.
