The weather has been uncommonly variable during the last fortnight, particularly in the North of England. Sunday se'nnight was as warm as at Midsummer; and the day following, it was as cold as at Christmas; and the Tuesday there was a heavy fall of snow, so much so, that on Thursday last it was eighteen inches deep on the open road, on Shap Fells, in Cumberland.
