I need numbers .... I was hoping to get to Cheltenham to do a "recky" of the place - but Andy is now working straight through to at least the 26th May - so don't know when we're going to be able to spare the 8 hours it'll take us ... It's a 2.5hr drive there - & 2.5hr back - & that's not counting things like rush-hours & roadworks ... But we'll do our best to get there .... On our way to the Sarf last weekend - we did manage to take in a detour to Winchcombe - and - to be honest with you all - there does not seem to be too much in the way of decent eating establishments - except one called :- "The Corner Cupboard" http://www.cornercupboard.co.uk/index.html ... We called in and spoke to a member of staff ... We do have to book - and of course - this would mean knowing exactly who is intending to be around for the SUNDAY - & who would want to eat lunch ... Their last sitting is 2pm - and they said that if we pre-ordered our meals (£7.95 for a roast meal - whatever meat we wanted, as long as they know) - they would have them on the table for us for 2pm .... Seeing as most of you want to be away by 4pm - this seemed suitable ... They have a fair sized restaurant - and also a side room - which they said we could have - (it used to be the darts room) ... It doesn't have direct access to outside - but it does have windows - & would certainly be better than nothing if the weather wasn't good & dry (how dare it not be, he) .. There is a good sized car-park - & a beer-garden outside if it's hot ... There's only one problem - and that is there is a slope down to the pub from the car-park - and a few steps up to the beer-garden - but I managed it okay .... The trouble with most of the other places in the village - was that they seemed to be lacking car-parking spaces - but it was late when we got there - & we didn't really have a very long look ... IF we manage to get there again - we can look around - if you don't want to go to the Corner Cupboard .. Sooooooo - I need NUMBERS --- of A. Who will be joining us on the SUNDAY - and B. Who will be wanting to eat lunch ... * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * As for the SATURDAY WELL - - - How does "Bourton On The Water" grab you .. ? ... - http://www.cotswolds.info/places/bourton-on-the-water.shtml ... - http://www.places-to-go.org.uk/Bourton_on_the_Water.htm ... As you'll see - if you go to these sites - &/or do a Google search - There is PLENTY to do and see here - ranging from :- A "Model Village" of itself ... A large model railway - largest in the UK ... A Motor Museum (beside the river) ... Birdland Zoo ... Plus lots of other things ... I would suggest - as we're eating our main meal in the evening - at the Beefeater (attached to the hotel) - that we self-cater for lunchtime on the SATURDAY ... We can either buy what we want from Sainsbury's before we go - (shop opposite the hotel) - - - or we can buy when we're there ... Andy can take our large 'fridge-box' - if needed .... BUT - I do need numbers - - - so would appreciate your responses .... You all know which weekend it is - so - although there's no real hurry - we do need to sort this out - as ASAP .... Thank you ... Sue

Hi Sue, Lunch on Sunday 11th at 2pm at "The Corner Cupboard" will do us fine. We ate there when we were last in Winchcombe about 4 years ago! For meat, we would prefer chicken... Bron & I can arrive at Winchcombe by about 10.30. Where do you suggest we meet? A trip on the railway would be nice. A round trip is possible (either way round) starting from Winchcombe at 11.40 and returning at 13.40. Cars can be parked at the station, handy for getting into town for lunch as the station is about 3/4-mile from the centre... Count me and Yards in for whatever is going on, Sunday lunch too. We had planned on taking Yards to Bourton on the water anyway while she is over here. It's one of my favourite places. We are arriving Friday and leaving Sunday.
