THE WEST CUMBERLAND NEWS, Nov. 21, 1931 HIS SLEEPING DRAUGHT OF FOOTSTEPS. ____ There is one sidelight on the cessation of the Setaway which is interesting. One resident in Senhouse Street professes that he has not slept soundly since the clogs ceased to clatter up the street on return from the afternoon shift and the way to the morning shift. He may never sleep easily again. The reason is the popular idea which has developed in Bolton of caulkering clogs with rubber instead of steel may be reproduced in Maryport at any time. It is stated to have increased the sales of clogs in Lancashire enormously. ________________________
