I need a glimpse of the future...... just when I thought things were settling down, and that the light was starting to show at the end of the tunnel - though still very distant - Jac came home last night feeling rather down. At quitting time she & the other 2 people taken on in April were all laid off - indefinitely. I guess the contract which was to bring in the extra work has fallen through and so the last hired were all laid off with very little likelihood of being recalled in the near future. So we're back to square one again..... and I'm not sure what will happen next. Please peek at your crystal ball, if you have one, and tell me what to do as I am out of ideas... mary
How unfair . . . just as Jac was beginning to get on her feet. It must really shake her confidence to be laid off like that, and although I'm sure she will be able to find another (hopefully even better) job soon . . . it'd be nice to know for certain, wouldn't it? Don't know what the job situation is like over in Ontario . . .. here in BC employers are crying out for good workers. Just a year or two ago they'd have hundreds of applications for every job posted, now they may have as few as 1-2. Hugs to Jac and you . . . will check my tea leaves, and keep fingers firmly crossed for good news. Sorry to hear about Jac's losing her job, tell her not to wait for a probable retaking on, get her to ask the firm for a reference it will show another firm that she then applies to for a job, that she is willing to not wait around on a "perhaps" which often is what people have often done, to their misfortune, she also has age on her side. Hope everthing works out quickly for you all.
