Hi Linda, and for all Trivvies, When you went to that the site page up on Yahoo or whatever one, did you get the the surname one called Surname Profiler, where [as long as your surname choice had more than a 100 of them] you can then look at the map and see the rough area of where they were the most prolific, the Counties are not named, but you can with a map showing just the Counties get roughly the right area. and a choice date of 1881 or 1998, the names I have looked up so far, have been where I have always found them; though not enough NIDD Surnames in 1998 it stated.
