Carlisle Patriot Friday, August 13th, 1880 CHARGE OF STARVING A SERVANT GIRL.—At the Old Bailey yesterday, Emily SCOTT was charged with withholding food from her female servant, Eleanor HOUSMANN, at Hastings, whereby her life was endangered. The trial had not concluded when the court rose. On Saturday, the trial was concluded. The jury returned a verdict of guilty, and the prisoner was sentenced to two years' imprisonment with hard labour. -- Emily Smith
