    3. Raised beds are wonderful. I had 6 4ftx20ft beds at our last house and grew all sorts of things. There's no garden at all her, but the hills and moors are compensation. ... Lizzie -----Original Message----- You can always make a raised bed using bricks or timber, Annalee. Old railroad sleepers are ideal if you can get them. The sides need be only about 12" to 15" high. Fill it with some decent soil mixed with compost or manure. You will be able to grow a surprising amount of veg's in even a realtively small bed. Alternatively, you could use a number of large pots. Geo. Welcome again, June. :) I wish I could garden, have wished so since childhood, but unfortunately our soil in our yard is not conducive to gardening. One of these days, though! I would be thrilled to have a vegetable garden. :) Annalee
