Hi Geo In my submission earlier, I forgot to say that the village also had Post Office/ stationers, and I should have remembered as I was born in the flat above. At Christmas time it sold toys, too. Incidentally, the village store and P.O. were owned by my father's employer and I think my mother felt he did rather well as most of Dad's wages went back him. He also owned a number of cottages and ours was tied. He was a good employer, though as retired employees remained in their dwellings.
