Transcribed by Susan Bergeron. Geo. The Carlisle Patriot Friday, February 13, 1880 Tenders for Police Clothing and Helmets. The Watch Committee of the City of Carlisle are prepared to receive Tenders for furnishing Police Suits of Uniform, consisting of Tunics and Trousers, also Helmets for 1 Inspector, 5 Sergeants, and 29 Constables. The Clothes to be made of Blue Cloth, Wool Dyed, thoroughly Shrunk, and workmanship good. The Tunics to be free from any Cross Pieces on Skirts, and Lined with good Black Serge. Contractor to furnish Buttons. Trousers to be of same material, to be cut without Fork Pieces or Seat Pieces, baton pocket of good Dark Jane, 14 inches by 3 inches, well stayed, and Trousers Pocket left side on same material. A specimen of the style of Uniform may be seen at the City Police Office. The Tenders to be marked "Tender for Uniform" and "Tender for Helmets," inclosing a Pattern of Cloth or Helmet, intended to be supplied. Clothing and Helmets to be supplied on or before the 6th day of April next. The Committee are not bound to accept the lowest or any Tender.
