    3. What an awful way to go. Those poor sailors. Pat.xxx :o)) A Maid of Kent The Times, Tuesday, Feb 06, 1866; pg. 12; Issue 25414; col B MIRACULOUS PRESERVATION AT SEA. ----------------------- TO THE EDITOR OF THE TIMES. Sir, - During a seven weeks' detention in this harbour, waiting for a fair wind for Batavia, many painful incidents of peril, loss of life, and rescue from the late violent gales have reached me, but the following account of the hairbreadth escape of an English captain, for the truth of which I can vouch, may deserve a corner in your journal. Last evening I was told that the Ida Elizabeth, a Dutch vessel, Captain DOREN, from Java, just come into this port, had on board an English captain, whom she had picked up in the last stage of exhaustion at sea.

    3. with luck we leave tomorrow night to go see vanessa and the baby. yup..i get to be step grandma..doesn't bother me, i'm already adopted/foster grandma..but i still ain't grandma..i'm grandma by association...or as a friend said..grandma, by default..and i said of course..it's by default..it's de fault of them kids..:-)) anyhow..nessa has named the baby wyatt. she says he's really good, hardly cries and at less than 24 hours old, already seems to have a routine of eating, then sleeping for 4 to 5 hour blocks. she says he has loads of dark hair..hrrrumph..my kids were total BALDIES until they were almost 18 months old. i'm jealous..:-)) bill came in very, very blonde and in gorgeous curls/ringlets. kevi came in dark and straight, with very, very thick hair. if i put her hair into double pony tails/braids..each braid is typical of what a normal person has for an amount of hair. lol..kev seems to be taking this grandpa thing rather hard..he's thrilled about the baby..but not that it indicates he's getting older. we had a good father's day..sorta..he kind of got pushed to the background, as it was the final day of kevi's softball tournament..so we spent the day at the field watching ball game after ball game...kevi's team came in second. so she was quite thrilled..she now has a little trophy...and quite inspired to play next season. i've spent today, cleaning/dusting and chasing dust bunnies..we have a house sitter coming in to look after the house and critters...and thankfully, i'm on my last load of laundry. i'll get our suitcases packed tomorrow, and do up all the bedding..and then i'm free for a couple weeks...or until about the july 1st weekend. anyhow, i've passed on all the grandpa well wishes to kev..who seems to get greyer with each wish..lol poor guy..lol..what's he gonna do when he hits 50..giggle. hopefully, he will have adjusted by then. til next time..and happy birthday, anniversaries to everyone i've missed or will miss. take care and be good....and that means john and di too! cya roz On Sunday, June 18, 2006 11:46 AM, Jennifer [SMTP:slyfoxx@shaw.ca] wrote: > Congratulations to Kev on becoming a Grandpa . . . so I guess that > makes > you a Step-Grandma (wicked, or otherwise <VBG>) > Have you seen the little fella yet? > Jennifer > > Roz Griston wrote: > > > > roz..who does not do heat and humidity. > > > > p.s. kev became a grandpa at 12.53 am. his dau, vanessa had a little > > > > boy. 6lbs 8oz, loads of hair. he will either be called wyatt or > > joshua. > > > > > > > ==== GEN-TRIVIA-ENG Mailing List ==== > RANDOM TAGLINE - GEN-TRIVIA-ENG - MAILING LIST > Today's Memories will be of interest to our Descendants. 3. Wonderful Idea Johno and so great to hear your voice again after only 4 days away from talking to you in your garden. Thursday was a wonderful day to remember spending time with Mary, Cathy and especially you, then in the afternoon getting to meet my youngest Grandau Kirstie, 13.2yrs; at long last, just short of 9 years, last time I saw her was in July 1997. Kirstie and GtG'son Nicholas, 13.7yrs are in the same school classroom but it has still taken almost 2 years to get this meeting when they started Senior School . Special Hugs Johno and Keep up the messages and Very Big Thanks go out to Michael once again, and also not forgetting Cathy's work on the letters . Hugs Marlene .. who is feeling better and needs to go out to replenish her frig and cupboards ``````````````````````````````````````````` Michael was keen for me to try out this audioblog so if you have a minute click on the link and see what you think. http://www.connolley.co.uk/Bloggo_de_Johno.htm ___________________________________________________________ All new Yahoo!
