    3. This aggravating type of post comes from outside GEN-SLAVIC, anyone can post to newsgroups, but you have to subscribe to receive GEN-SLAVIC mail. GEN-SLAVIC/soc.genealogy.slavic subscribers are most exemplary in their postings, a really great group doing serious genealogy. In my opinion, moderation would be out of place. Having said this, moderating GEN-SLAVIC would have no effect on junk mail coming in from outside, except to satisfy pranksters that their posts are actually noticed. I know this might not seem like very much of a solution, but the best way to deal with the junk mail is to ignore it. Rest assured if anyone were to subscribe and then post pornography, I would not hesitate to delete the name from the list, with a very good paper trail to justify my action.
