    3. The -ko ending is clearly Slovak or Ukrainian (although some South Slavic names also have this ending). If we have to chose between Polish and Ukrainian, a Polish origin seems more likely, due to the fact that the surname derives from the (long ago very popular) Christian name Florian which comes from Latin.
