I have a photocopy of my grandmother's birth record from Wola Niechcicka, Poland from 1891. I was under the impression that it was written in Russian but have had a few translators state that it is not. I have had a suggestion that it could be Old Church Slavonic but I have no means of determining this. I do not know if the area where my grandmother was born had an evangelical lutheran church or if the record was found in a Catholic Church. Would anybody be able to direct me to where I could find out where people registered in that area (south of Piotrkow Trybunalski) and what the language is?? I live in an area that has relatively few resources.
