Since I knew 2 of my uncles were born in Chicopee, MA, I checked with the City Clerk to see what information I could discover about the MILOS family. I learned my grandparents met and were married in Chicopee in 1902. I thought they were married in the old country. I also learned that their first son, William, died in Chicopee at the age of 4 months of pneumonia. This was a new piece of information, since no one was aware of his birth. Unfortunately, the city does not have record of his birth. Joseph and John were born there before my grandparents returned to Poland (then Austria) and bought some land in ORLOW, GALATIA, AUSTRIA (POLAND). They returned to the US to Cumberland where my father, Fred, was born. By chance, I contacted the church in Chicopee and found that my grandparents were married in the St. Stanislaus Church. After getting a copy of the marriage certificate, I now have the names of my great grandparents: g-grandparents Joseph Milos & Marianne Pazdro Parents of Marcin (my grandfather) Valentini Zakrecka & Marianne Milos Parents of Anna (my grandmother) Marcin was from Plawa, Galatia, Austria. Anna was from Twierdza, Galatia, Austria. Does anyone know the location of these towns and if they would be near Orlow, which I believe is near Mielec? Does anyone know is the church records for these 2 towns exist? Information is slowly unfolding and I am surprised I've gotten this far. Thanks in advance! Frank
