In a follow up to Anne-Marie�s recent worthy note in regards to obtaining Naturalization documents in Massachusetts, the following recently acquired information may be useful to others seeking similar data in their own states. The copies originated from the Naturalization Service which was under the jurisdiction of the U. S. Department of Labor. In this particular case the years were in the 1920�s. The DECLARATION OF INTENTION ( form 2203 ) gives information about the subject including name, age, physical description, occupation, birth, address prior immigration, marital status, spouse�s name, present residence; passenger ship information as name, port from which ship sailed, date of sailing and date of arrival in specified US port. The CERTIFICATE OF ARRIVAL- FOR NATURALIZATION PURPOSES has brief information giving the "Name of alien for permanent admission," date of arrival and manner of arrival ( ship�s name ). The PETITION FOR NATURALIZATION ( form 2204-L ) offers subject�s name, birth, present address and former in foreign country; ship�s name, from which port sailed and date and US port entered with date. Also, names and birth dates of subject�s family members. The OATH OF ALLEGIANCE is mainly a declaration to renounce allegiance to the subject�s former country, states the subject�s Certificate of Naturalization No and the date Certificate was issued. The preceding described documents were obtained February, 1997. Photocopy charge is $7.00 per item. Suggest a 4 � x 10 � envelope for SASE as documents are fairly large.
