In a previous article, greenbrown@aol.com (Greenbrown) says: > >I had become aware of the change in endings of names depending on gender, >but I wasn't sure when to apply it. Is it when the female is on her own >or head of family, or does it apply even when a girl is still living with >her family or married? > > The feminine ending on Czech surnames is used for all females. It makes no difference if she is single, married, widowed, on her own, at home, etc. If she marries, she will typically change her name to that of her husband, but she STILL uses the feminine ending. -- Gary N.
