She came to the United States prior to 1914. She's my paternal Grandmother and I'd appreciate a response. I've been searching for any information regarding the Brazillas in Europe, but I have not discovered any information. >> Not much to work with here..... Have you looked for the passenger arrival document yet? Any idea of the port of arrival? There are Indexes you can check for your surname for most of the ports. In New York there is a Soundex from 1902...I would start there. Did you check the 1900 federal census to see if they arrived that early? This census is Soundexed also. Did you look for Naturalization records?...from 1906 you can obtain them from the National Archives in Washington DC. Follow the paper trail back to Europe....and in most cases, you will have to know the village/town in the country they came from to find further records. This information is found in US records, so find all that you can. Hope this helps some, Susanne M. Saether in Florida GFSSusanne and AFSsusanne (AOL Genealogy Forum Staff and ANCESTRY Forum Staff)
