Cathy At first glance I could not locate those locations on my own map of Slovakia, nor in my Slovak encycloppedia - there is a Bytca in a district (okres) of Zilina - a hachek on the c gives it a similar pronunciation to Bycha - but be careful, my theory may be wrong. Try www.mapquest.com - or if you are near a Barnes & Noble bookstore, you could get a good road map of Slovakia. (They may have to special order). The Slovak language is written with our regular alphabet, but with a few diacritics that are necessary for correct written Slovak - but you ask if the "Slavic" language is written using the Cyrillic alphabet. Some Slavic languages are - I think you may need to clarify the words Slovak and Slavic in your own mind, and an ordinary encyclopedia would do this for you. Good luck Cathy, Margaret Sheremata
