I use Netscape and have never experienced the problem. Please tell the list what program you are using and perhaps someone can help you. And, you are definitely talking about list mail, not newsgroup mail? You cannot delete newsgroup mail. It remains in place for a certain number of days and then is replaced by more current newsgroup postings. But you can mark those posts as "read." Please let the list know more so they can help.
