    3. Greeting, I am researching my wife's family. Her maternal great grandfather was Michal Rzoska (1864-1935), who emigrated to the US (and Buffalo, NY) in 1888. The family oral tradition has it that he left to escape being _regularly_ conscripted into the Prussian Army. I have some questions with which I hope someone can help: 1) Is anyone familiar with this name? Is it likely to be common in one or more areas of Poland (which might help me narrow my search)? If so, which ones? 2) If anyone is familiar with Polish history in this period (ca. 1864-1888), would there have been regular forays from the Prussian/German Army into Poland? If so, why? 3) Would anyone know where I could track down the draft records from the period to confirm or deny the oral tradition? Thanks for your help! Chris Brennan cristoir@rochester.rr.com
