We are still trying to locate information on the surname Schlesinger which goes back to Czechoslovakia in the late 1800's. One of our proven relation was living on a "Schlesinger Majer" near Nove' Mesto, nad Va'hom, Czechoslovakia (near Piestany) and conceived my Grandfather. We have no name nor proof of a father to him, but it was rumoured that it was the owner of the farm, a Mr. Schlesinger. I have yet to come across any Schlesinger researchers anywhere that have this lineage as well, so I'm reaching for straws now :( More explicity, the proof we thus far have is: Jan Hrusovsky b. 08 Oct 1912 Jan's mother was Julianna Hrusovska b. 01 Jun 1891 in Nove' Mesto nad Va'hom, Czechoslovakia. We believe his father may have been ____ Schlesinger. Julianna's parents were: Stefan Hrusovsky b. 07 Dec. 1860 in Mnesice #43, Czechoslovakia Eva Stukovszky b. 03 Jan 1862 in Mnesice #12, Czechoslovakia. (They had 4 children: Jan Hrusovsky b. 31 Dec. 1885 Mnesice #12, Czechoslovakia, d. ABT 1945 in USA Andrej Hrusovsky b. 19 Nov 1887 (killed by German soldiers during wartime) Julianna Hrusovska b. 01 Jun 1891 Nove' Mesto nad Va'hom, Czeckoslovakia d. 10 Nov 1973 in Budapest, Hungary Stefanus Hrusovsky b. 03 Sep 1894, Mnesice, Czechoslovakia, d. 14 Jun 1977. I was thinking of some sort of DNA testing to either prove or disprove that we came from the Schlesinger lineage - at least then we'd know what to pursue. I know there are many DNA testings going on throughout the world to prove lineages -- does anyone know if there is such testing going on with any Schlesingers?
