    1. Re: [GEN-ROOTERS-L] Ancestral File Update
    2. Linda, Through experience we tell our patrons to send an update of their research to Salt Lake City once a year. My assistant Director suggested that we do it on our birthdays' because without our ancesters we wouldn't have a birthday. In many of the new software programs once you send in the first submission the following submission will only do what you have changed. There is a couple of reasons to do this yearly. First and foremost Salt Lake does recieve 1000's of disks each month. They are very careful not to lose any, but it does happen. Second. I know that I do not live where I did 2 years ago let alone 4 years ago and not even close to where I did in 1983. By submitting yearly you updated marriages, deaths, births and any new ancestors that you have found. Also you are pretty much asured that you will be in the updates from SLC. Good Luck, and we appreciate all the hard work that you do at your Regional Family History Center. This could not go forward without you volunteering, every minute is appreciated. Thanks, Kris
