My husband's ancestor was the FIRST to be prosecuted for multiple wives. His first wife decided to divorce him. It was in the papers and I have some of the details. My question is WHEN exactly did the church decide this was wrong and you'd be X'd for doing so? Thomas left UTAH and went to the colonies in MEXICO so he could keep his 2 other wives. Please help me know WHERE to look or just the facts. Please, write to me directly so I won't take up list space from other researchers. This was discovered by my husband (this is his line) at church one day and he asked me to find out MORE! How excited I am that he now wants me to help him with his lines too!!!! Yeah!
