Hi CathyV! Welcome to Gen-Rooters. Hope you'll enjoy this list. I've subscribed to it for about a year now, and I can tell you that it's my favorite list. The people are very willing to help and there's a wonderful spirit about it at times. As I read over your list, I didn't recognize any of our surnames matching up, but since you say you're new to internet research, I'm wondering if you're familiar with the surname lists? I belong to several and have found some wonderful information that way. You have to realize that the information you receive is not a primary source, but sometimes if you get the information, you can go and find the primary source documents really easy because you then know where to look! Why I'm writing this is because of your HIGGINS surname. I have a HUGGINS surname....which isn't going very fast! But, in my research, I keep coming across things with the HIGGINS name. So, makes me think that you'll find lots of information on this line on the internet. If you aren't familiar with surname lists, write me back and I'll get you going in the right direction. My best to you and your research! Annette Nelson in snowy Utah (we woke up to 12" this am!!!!) P.S. We have some children the same age: I have a son who is a missionary in Brazil; a senior, a freshman, and a 6th grader--all boys! About 1-1/2 years ago when my oldest son (missionary) left home to go to school at West Point (army--another similarity!), I was beside myself. When a ward member suggested that I do some genealogy, I tried it. It didn't fill the void in my life, but it really helped. Now, I'm hooked!
