There is supposedly a reference in a book by Nephi Anderson that names the rescuers. The name of the book is possibly "History of the Church." Try the LDS Book store there is a book called "The Rescuers" it is about the rescue of the handcart company and I think it was the Willie/Martin Co. I looked for mine but it look like it might have been borrowed. If you ask at the Bookstore they can tell you what books would have the information you are looking for.
