The purpose of the Satelite Broadcasts is usually to give the FHC workers and pat on the back. It also lets the Priesthood know what is really going on in the Family History Department and in their wards/stakes. It gives any new direction that Salt Lake wants the centers to go. For volunteers in the FHC it lets them know the big picture of how/why Family History is important. Many centers have Volunteers that are not members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, it helps them understand what is going on above the local area and how important they are.
