PERSI is an ongoing project, as I understand it, by the Allen County Public Library. It's an index of genealogical periodicals, and is available on CD from Ancestry.com. You can search by keyword, place name, surname, and various other ways...with the ability to mark and highlight, leave notes, etc. with the personal version. Once you have located articles that may be of interest to you, you can fill out a form from the Allen County Public Library, send it in and for 6 lookups it is $7.50 plus costs of copying. (You send $7.50 with the request and they bill you for the copies.) The nice thing about this is that you can access the articles even if you live on an island with no large library nearby (like me.)
