I'm in desperate need of help! How? read on or skip to bottom! 1985: mother-in-law (Mil) receives group sheets, family newsletter showing her lines to abt 1702 - does nothing 1991:Mil receives letter: 13 years of serious research has produced a book about her husband's Gen, 1-time pre-pub offer - does nothing 1995-96: Mil passes copies on to my husband ( Hub) - He does nothing-I slip everything into the photocopier, return the originals to his clutter pile, and put my copies in the back file. You know, the one waiting for "Round Tuits" to go on sale. 8/31/97: I am about 2 mos away from a deadline to finish a cont ed (CE) class, and Hub starts looking over my shoulder to see why I'm always at the computer. To humor him, I pull out his stuff to show him, and send off inquiries on his 2 lines - takes 5 minutes. 24 hrs later I receive e-mail from both sides: the book is being reprinted, his 2nd cuz-2 is e-mailing to talk about that, who-knows-what cuz on the other side with the web-site wants an interview of Mil, now 83, Hub starts asking about relationships to the e-mailers. Then, I input all the info we have, plus updates from the website, now I'm into several hours of work, and Hub can't wait to see his pedigree and group sheets coming out of my printer. Now he is talking fondly of vacationing in Lazdijai, Lithuania! I have been working on mine since 1975, (well, OK, career took off and interfered) and am stuck at grandpa on mom's side. As his girlfriend said to Nathan Detroit..I kehn't SHTAND it! Thank goodness Hub still has a job to keep him occupied during the week. Oh, did I mention Hub doesn't know the on-off button on the computer (OK, he learned DOS Word Perfect 5.1 about a year ago, nothing else) I want to send him off on weekends to have cozy taped chats with Mil, get the web-site guy satisfied and GET HUB OFF MY BACK (er, shoulder) so I can get back to MY homework project, now due in 6 weeks! Where you can help: I need an interview script, mine dates from 1975, and is not all that great. Any sources, books, etc. you can refer me to or one you can e-mail.
