My Myers, Copen, and Farley lines are from WV and my Rice line is from MD and WV. My husband's Dumont family were Washington, DC natives. Some Dumonts came from MA. Other family names are Lineberger, Norbeck, and Werner (last two from Eshzell, Germany). My real stumbling block is my paternal grandfather, James Francis Rice. No one in the family ever knew, but suspected, he was born out of wedlock in Cumberland, MD. No name for mother either so this Rice name could be his mother's maiden name. I do have his birthdate - 02 April 1865. I have not worked on these names ever over the internet so I am a real greenie. My family group sheets and pedigree charts go back to early 1800s.
