And God said ( be still and listen ) your answers will come to you. I had one of these brick walls. SO, you have Susan Johnson, b 1848 - d 1912. Have you put this in to Ancestry.com search? God will make all things beautiful in his own time. Any one ever get the No go any where feeling in your genealogy? Uno this is the beginning of longer days. May those extra minutes of day light each day will give us more time for those things we dont like to do in the dark. How ever, its still going to be cold for a few more months. Its nice to cozy up to the PC and do sonething. I know - there are folks here who have a lot of genealogy savvy. I also have some other questions. 1, I would like to know if we have any one who just likes to write about history? 2, I would like to know if there is any one who knows how to find documents for those other members who have no idea or ability to help them selves and ask for free help. 3, I would like to know if there is any one in Oregon who would like take on a county for my American Local History Network Oregon pages< this> is a new effort I am starting, Its called Oregon In View - 4, I would like to know the same thing as above for Montana. 5, I also Have several Us Gen Web counties in Oregon plus Modoc in CA, I am looking for volunteers for all the above. Also trying to re wake up the genealogy interests folks have left into limbo. Shalom Dan M
I joined when I was much more actively searching ancestry files. Then life got in the way. Plan to search again someday. I have one that I"m sure everyone is sick of hearing about: Alonzo (Lon) Ward, b. 1835-45, maybe in GA or ALA but in MS married to Isabella Provines/Province-Tishomingo Co. MS around 1880. There's an Alonzo Ward as a young child in Lowndes Co., MS in household of Charles and Catherine Ward. I'd like to find out if this is the same Alonzo, and if so who are Charles's parents. My continual brick wall: Who are the parents of my father's mother? Johnson is such a common name! And there are not many records from those days, further complicated by a courthouse fire that destroyed most records. Rebecca "Beckie" Johnson, born in Tennessee on 15 June 1872 and died 23 February 1926. The area could be known as Clay County Tennessee, or Jackson County Tennessee, or even Monroe County Kentucky, due to the county and state lines changing during those early years. She was married to William "Billie" Kirby and had two children with him. She then had three children with Cyrus Haden Rush Sr but they did not marry each other.
