    3. Check the description of the microfilm either at the beginning of the film or in the FHL Library Catalog. If it was filmed at the County Clerk's Office, then it is the copy made for the County Clerk. The Federal copy (which I think for 1850 is the original) will say National Archives at the beginning of the film.
