    1. Research trip to Albany report
    2. Hi NY List-- I just wanted to report on my trip to the Library and Archives in Albany today. It was wonderful!! I found lots of intriguing information, both in the Vital Records department, and through perusing the various NY state census records on microfilm. (There's so much more in the library and vital records area, I barely scratched the surface.) Thanks to all the great tips I had from lots of people ahead of time, I knew how to get there, where to park, that I needed to bring dimes, be organized as to what I was looking for, record those birth, marriage and death certificate numbers, and then, get right over to the Dept. of Health to submit requests for the records, along with a check for payment, in person. The drive was only about an hour and fifteen minutes from my parents' home in Ulster Co. and you can be assured I will be making the trip again some time! Thanks again for your help and if anyone wants more specifics on my trip, feel free to ask. Have a happy and healthy Thanksgiving, Marilyn Hough Stern (usually in Austin, TX, happily visiting in Kripplebush, NY)
