Hello I'd like to find what became of a branch of my family who are supposed to have been in New York at one time. Most of my information comes from an old FRASER family tree, drawn up in the early 1880s, and the only substantiation I have of this branch is of the births of the original couple while they were still in Scotland. Why don't I have more place names? Because this information is out on the twigs of the tree and space was running out. Alexander FRASER b 8 Dec 1807, Markinch, Fife, Scotland, on 25 March 1832 in Edinburgh, Scotland, he married Elizabeth Chalmers who was born 25 December 1812 in Markinch, Fife, Scotland. Alexander was a baker and flour merchant, and the couple emigrated in 1832 to Chicago. They had children: Agnes FRASER b 4 Jan 1833 New York, on 1st May 1855 she married James IRONS who was born 13 Feb 1827 and who died 17 March 1877. He died 13 April 1880.
