Any information In the late 1890's the National GAR sent each chapter a Roster book. At least those chapters in Chautauqua County, New York. The local chapters recorded all informaion on their members- when and where they served - when and where born - when and where died - . Some chapters elaborated and added obits - family data and photos - others just have the bare minimum of information. Perhaps the A. L. Carter chapter had such a roster book. Most of the ones here are now in museum or other archives but are available to view. Try accessing the Michigan Genweb page and go to both the counties you named. Also put a Query on the boards in those counties- someone there will have your answer. Donna
