Sorry, >geographically challenged here. > for us in brooklyn&queens the city was manhattan. you got on th el or subway and went into the city to the movies or a show. there is a book out "Cabbages and Brooklyn" that gives an expression/idea of this. Brooklyn & Queens were farm country for longer then we realize and the"idea" [ideal] of this was steeped into us. those of us that in our 50's still refer to manhattan as the city. regards m ============================================================ Jazz is freedom. -- T.
