And Staten >Island is right snug against Jersey. <snip> A few minor corrections: As of about 1973 the great unwashed masses who immigrated from Brooklyn and Queens to Staten Island, with _NO_ appreciation for history, prevailed on the powers that be to change the name to the Borough of Staten Island, although as far as I know it's still Richmond County. And as of about a year ago, the SI Ferry is FREE-FREE-FREE (for foot traffic). The bridge tolls are horrendous however, and you can no longer walk or bike over them as you could when I grew up there.
