Hi List, This might be a real dumb question... Okay, talking with my mother-in-law the other day. I'm doing her geneology. She grew up in lower Manhattan, 9th and Greenwich streets. I tried looking to see what county this area is in...for the obvious, most info online and off is by county. I couldn't quite figure it out looking at the one map I have from the AAA, the county lines change colors too much. My mother in law says its not in a county, its just "Manhattan, New York". It has to be in a county, right? Some of the records I have from her just say Manhattan District court etc. I live in Southern Calif. I know nothing about New York. Can someone explain the heiarchy for me. I mean what is the Bronx, Long Island, Queens etc.? Is New York City a small area or does it include all of this? Sorry, geographically challenged here.
