Stopped replying separately. Want to say thanks to all for the information. Very helpful, even though still a little clear as mud, as they say. Thanks for all the references to maps and other websites. It does make it more interesting and I'll have to look into New York's history more. Not to start over again, so what are areas like Flatbush and Harlem? Is that like when we say Anaheim Hills even though technically there is no such place or post office name. It just kind of became an identifier to the people living in the newer homes in the hills. Also, even though from lower Manhattan, my mother in law has that slight accent still that sounds like what people say is Bronx, but she never actually lived in the Bronx. Thanks, Jo
