Hi Jo:) I'm an ex-nuuyawkah and also live in So Cal <g>. It is confusing, re NYC. All those places are "boroughs" There are five boroughs in all that comprise New York City......Manhattan being one of them, the others being the Bronx, Brooklyn, Staten Island, Queens. Idiomatically, most people think of Manhattan only when someone mentions New York City. I'm sure there are others on this list who will be full of information about researching this area and that you'll be hearing from them! Good luck:) Nancy Gauthier Fein nancyfein@hotmail.com ----- Original Message ----- From: Jo Hartman <johartman@home.com> To: <GEN-NYS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, July 27, 1999 11:02 AM Subject: Where is Manhattan? > Hi List, > This might be a real dumb question... > > Okay, talking with my mother-in-law the other day.
