But here's where it gets fun... The borough of Queens is Queens County, and that makes sense. "The" Bronx. Bronx borough that is, is Bronx County. so far so good. Now... The borough of Brooklyn is Kings County (Brooklyn used to be a separate city... Brooklynites think it still is.) The borough of Manhattan (on Manhattan Island)is New York County, thus, New York, New York. (If I can make it there, I'll make it anywhere....) And Staten Island???? ain't no such place... Richmond Borough, Richmond County.... no wonder they want to secede from both the City AND the State. You can't there from here without paying a toll, on the ferry, or on the Verrazzano Bridge... unless you have a good boat or can swim.
